When I saw this banging pink & green custom bamboo knit, I JUMPED! I mean how could my sew sister Queenora know that this was the cat's meow....the bee's knees?! It was so funky and I knew EXACTLY what to do with it. Since it's turtleneck season, I went for my absolute favorite....Mimi G's "Georgia" pattern. I sewed it up without a hitch, but what to wear on my bottom??? I thought you all would appreciate me being covered, so I started brainstorming.

I grew up in the era of skorts...lol! Yes, the shorts covered in the front with a skirt flap. I thought I'd never see the day that they would come back in style. Child.....I was ill-prepared for the moment that I flipped through Simplicity's catalog and laid eyes on #S9111. I was so shocked at how dope it was! I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! Although it was a fairly easy make, I recommend using stretch suiting for those of us with "more to love". Due to the crepe I used, I had to open the side seams and add a strip of fabric in order for my zipper to close. Honestly, that alteration worked in my favor because it gave the finished trousers a tuxedo-pant appearance. Plus, the attachment of the skirt flap through the "D" rings added enough drama to not draw attention to the alteration.

I dolled up in my new "fit", but felt like something was missing. I needed some pizazz! I tried on different shoes, accessories, etc.....nothing spoke to me. I was scrolling on Instagram and ran across Nichol Lynel's "NL" bodysuit. My mind started going, but I was still up in the air. Right after that, I saw Beyonce’s “Mood” video. That was all she wrote! I politely scoured my patterns for the perfect way to create a “faux” bodysuit. I created my gloves from McCall’s Pattern #M7397. For the socks, I used Ellie & Mac’s “Sew It Forward Sock it to Me” pattern. Both would provide me with best combo to scrap bust! I finished both in a little over an hour. I threw on everything with a pair of peep toe heels and POSED!

Thank you so much, love!!!
This made me smile. I love the print and your creations!
